Flying is the 2nd best thrill known to a cheerleader. Being caught is the first. Cheerleading isn't everything...... it's the only thing!!! "Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." TEAM= T~Together E~Everyone A~Achieves M~More The only humans that can fly are cheerleaders. Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is a process; working together is success. If you've got the game, we've got the cheer. Cheerleading takes... S~Skill P~Pride I~Integrity R~Rhythm I~Intelligence T~Teamwork!!! This sport isn't about million-dollar contracts or over-priced shoes. It's about Dedication and Determination. My mind is sharp and my body is strong. I may not be the biggest athlete out there, but Nothing is Larger than my Spirit... I CAME TO CHEER! If football were so spectacular, why does it take cheerleaders to excite the crowd? If cheerleading were so easy, it would be called football. There are 2 kinds of people in this world: Cheerleaders, and those who wish they were! It takes alot of hours in the gym to lift and entire stadium. Your gonna be feeling fear, cause' we're gotta jump, yell, scream, and CHEER!!! Cheer with the Heart, Cheer what you feel, That's when you know the cheerleader is real!!! Now I lay me down to rest, I've tried my hardest and done my best to tumble, jump, dance, and cheer, with the sharpest of motions and no trace of fear. I know in the morning my body will ache but, for what I love it's a price I gladly pay. Thank you God for making me strong with determination and commitment when practices are long. And Lord if I shall die before I wake, I'll know I've shwn the world, Cheerleaders were born, not made!!! Hold me up just a little longer Lord and help me keep smiling for one more game. Give me the strength for one cheer for I am so very tired. Give me the courage to face the fans one more time, even the ones who are never around when the team is losing. Help me say the right words when the contest is over and our team needs to be comforted. Guide me Lord with your infinite wisdom for you are my spirit. Iask in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen The Cheerleader's Vow I am a cheerleader. I must wear my uniform with pride and respect or when serving in the role which my uniform places me. I must accept the fact that am no longer a voulnteer. Obligations to the "team" means that I am punctual for practice and never murmer when called upon to do the and-1 related duties that a cheerleader performs. I will never allow my conduct, thoughts, attitudes or emotions to betray the trust that others have placed in me as a member of the team. ON THE SECOND MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE THIRD MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, three fancy shirts, two pom pon, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE FOURTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gace to me, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE FIFTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE SIXTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, six tips for jumping, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE SEVENTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, seven laps for daydreaming, six tips for jumping, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE EIGHTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, eight counts for dancing, seven laps for daydreaming, six tips for jumping, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE NINTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, nine chants for yelling, eight counts for dancing, seven laps for daydreaming, six tips for jumping, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE TENTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, ten stunts for working, nine chants for yelling, eight counts for dancing, seven laps for daydreaming, six tips for jumping, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pm pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE ELEVENTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, eleven moves for dazzling, ten stunts for working, nine chants for yelling, eight counts for dancing, seven laps for daydreaming, six tips for jumping, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pm pons, and a partner in a new stunt. ON THE TWELFTH MONTH OF CHEERLEADING, my coaches gave to me, twelve cheers for winning!, eleven moves for dazzling, ten stunts for working, nine chants for yelling, eight counts for dancing, seven laps for daydreaming, six tips for jumping, five new cheers, four cheering shorts, three fancy shirts, two pom pons, and a partner in a new stunt. A RECIPE FOR A CHEERLEADER! 6 CUPS OF HARDWORK 5 CUPS OF TEAMWORK 1 TSP OF RIVALAY AND A WHLE LOTTA SPIRIT!!!!!! TEAM PLAYER We are the team a team of one!!! We work together, we are ONE! We compete together as ONE! We win and lose together as ONE! We're only strong If we stick together We're a powerful team If we believe in one another We can only achieve our goals If we work hard together as ONE! We're not just a cheer team We're friends to one another When one of us is hurt, or down We pick each other up, no frown! When we step out on that floor today Let's show our best and unity to the crowd Because not everyone can be like us One for all and all for all, CHEER PROUD!!! CHEER LOUD!!! STICK IT!!! To go out there and please a crowd to wald across a field feeling so proud To know what it's like to win to get out there and do my best again Am I an athlete too? You say I couldn't be an athlete you say i couldn't take the heat Oh I think I must be an athlete too I do all of those things the way that you do How could I not be an athlete if you are so? I've told you before, but I want you to know: I'm a cheerleader and I work as much; it's true just because I wear a skirt dosen't mean I'm less than you!!! Yes as a matter of fact I am a... Toe Touchin, Power Punchin Back Flippin, Stunt Stickin Loud Yellin, High Flyin, Spirit Spreadin, Crowd Pleasin Big Time, Bona Fide CHEERLEADER and proud of it!!! JUST BECAUSE Just because I'm a cheerleader I'm not a ditz. I'm not stuck up. I'm not afriad of breaking a nail. Just because I'm a cheerleader It dosen't mean you are better than me. It dosen't mean I only date jocks. It dosen't mean I'm always happy. Just because I'm a cheerleadr I'm not hyper i'm not the most over-sensitive. I'm not the most popular. Just because I'm a cheerleader Do you need to make fun of me? What is you point? Why can't you be my friend? Just because I'm a cheerleader- don't stereotype me!!! Cheerleading is a way of life, shared by a chosen few, It is working as a unit in everything you do. Cheerleading is a rivalry, the competition makes you strong, It is sharing secrets and tears, learning to get along. Cheerleading is that ongoing drive to be the very best, It is patience, perseverance, and very little rest. Cheerleading is having poise and charm with every word you say, It is total dedicatioon twenty-four hours a day. It is always being ready with encouragement and a smile, Cheerleading is your chance to express your individual style. Cheerleading is reaching out to comfort a sister who is sad, It is defending each other in good times and the bad. Cheerleading is a talent to be able to shine on cue, It is hiding the pain and anguish that if only half the people knew. Cheerleaders, after all, are real people that sometimes get down but when they're in the spotlight, they must never put on a frown. Cheerleaders are actresses always ready to go, That is why it's important for all the world to know. Not every girl cann be a cheerleader, it takes a special kind, Cheerleaders are full of life and a little bit out of their mind. A Cheerleader's Prayer Guide us Oh Lord, as we practice each day; To begin with a prayer, and end the same way. Help us Oh Lord, as a team to be one; To offer to you, what is lost or is won. Guide us Oh Lord, as we strive to succeed, To keep you in our hearts, as we cheer and we lead. Help us Oh Lord, be a light for each other, To respect, to accept, and build up one another. Send your angels Oh Lord, for our flyers things, Be their guide in the air, Set them down on their wings. Send you power, Oh Lord, to our bases for strength, As they lift and they turn, their teammates at length. Help them, Oh Lord, our spots and our back; To take serious their part to guide and keep track. For our team as a whole, may we learn how to be True Children of peace for our community. May the Forrest Rebels Be as one blessed by thee, Keep them safe on their way, lead them close to thee. TO EVERY CHEERLEADER There are little eyes upon you and they're wathcing night and day; There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say; There are little hands all eager to do anything to do; And the little gilr who's dreaming of the day she'll be like you. You're the little girl's idol; You're the wisest of the wise, In her little mind about you no suspicions ever rise; She believed in you devoulty, Holds that all you say and do she will say and do, in your way when she's grown-up like you. There's a wide eyed little girl who believes you're always right, And her ears are always open, and she watches day and night! You are setting an example every day in all you do. For the little gilr's wating, to grow up, and be like you. It;s the glimmer of hope when times are tough; It's a bit more patience when we've had enough. It's that thoughtful smile whn one;s desperately needed, It's that extra push, a reason why we've succeeded. This part of our personality which never fails to strive, Is the creator of our goals and the source of our drive. We are enthused about life, optimistic about what's to be, Because the cheerleader inside looks for the best of life you see. It's the strong support upon which you stand, it emerges as a friend to lend you a hand. Where does this light come from, where does the ray start? It shines in your mind, but ignites in your heart. The confidence to try, the will to believe, The acceptance of failure and the way to achieve. It's very close by, its something we trust. It's the fighter inside, it's the cheerleader within us. A dare? who needs it? You are the daring! Strong and steady, you will overcome. Powerful and aggressive, you will achieve. Graceful and majestic, you will impress. The best? Yes, you are a cheerleader! I used to think I was never good enough I used to think I could never do anything I used to think that cheerleaders were bimbos noting but dumb blondes till I became one that is why is the perception of a cheerleader tall, blonde, big breasts, and perky. I am depressed, short, red haired, yet I am a cheerleader, and DAMN proud of it!!! HANDS ON HIPS, SMILES ON LIPS SPIRIT IN YOUR HEART LETS START!!! HOPE YOU ENJOYED THESE POEMS!
